About Us

JF Hull Holdings is proud of our reputation in Civil Construction industry which is founded on collaboration with clients, joint venture partners, subcontractors, suppliers and employees.

The organisation was formed in 1977 with the aim of undertaking works requiring a high degree of professional engineering, innovative techniques and field construction skills. To date we have been successful in achieving this aim, having delivered over 140 projects to the satisfaction of our clients.

Project Manager & Senior Estimator

Prior to starting JF Hull Holdings, John spent time working as a design engineer, a mine planning engineer and in the civil construction industry with a local contractor. He then started JF Hull in 1977 with the first contract being the Reconstruction of Cook Street Rail Bridge project for QR with a staff of 4 people. With over 50 years’ experience in the civil and construction industry, John now takes an active role as Chairman offering technical advice for temporary works designs and providing strategic direction for the operation of the company.

Chairman

Bruce is an experienced Civil Engineer and has nearly 42 years of experience in the construction of major dams and infrastructure projects initially with Thiess and then Leighton throughout Australia and Asia.

Since joining JF Hull in 1990, he has been instrumental in the growth of the company’s business throughout Queensland and NSW and instigated the introduction and development of the company’s corporate procedures.

BRUCE GRAHAM
Executive Director

As Project Director, Clayton has completed a number of high profile and award winning projects for Queensland Rail, Queensland Transport and Main Roads.

Clayton oversees all programming, contractual and cost forecasting for the projects.

He also mentors engineers, including undergraduates, and implements leading training and development programs for local resources, including the indigenous workforce members.

CLAYTON SMITH
Project Director

Graham Hull is an experienced civil engineer with 29 years industry experience in major civil infrastructure, particularly concrete bridge structures.

He has developed on-site management skills and consistently worked as part of the team leading and delivering successful projects for clients including Queensland Rail, Brisbane City Council, DTMR, RMS (formerly RTA of NSW), the Port Authority and many others.

Bernard is a Business Services Executive Director with BDO in Brisbane.

With growth advisory as a key focus, Bernard supports business owners set their strategy, write supporting business plans and establish performance measurement and budgeting systems. He has extensive experience advising clients on appropriate business structuring for taxation, succession and sale purposes.

Warren’s combination of collaborative contracting and live rail experiences make him uniquely qualified to offer relevant learnings and leadership strength to the OLCR PLT and wider BHJV team.

This will include championing key project deliverables and driving the highest levels of safety performance, innovation and value throughout all stages of the Detailed Design and Delivery Process.

WARREN CROWTHER
General Manager

Warwick has over 18 years’ experience in the civil construction industry in Queensland having worked on numerous major infrastructure projects including motorways, roads, bridges, rail, sea walls, retaining walls, as well as water and waste water treatment facilities. These projects have been delivered through various contract mechanisms such as hard dollar contracts, early contractor involvement, early tenderer involvement, Joint Ventures and Alliances. 

Warwick has developed a complete understanding of all phases of project delivery from tender stage through to project completion. 

WARWICK SPACKMAN
Project Director

Sam brings more than 20 years’ diverse earthworks, civil and structures engineering experience, including roads, rail and mine infrastructure projects in the role of Project Director / Project Manager. Sam has delivered more than 30 major bridge structures involving Super T, cast in situ post tension and steel beam bridges over a combination of local roads, highways, railway lines and sensitive waterways.  Sam has also overseen extensive earthworks and roadworks under live traffic in highly urbanised areas with multiple services and community interfaces.

His safety focus on all projects under his lead is a key strength, particularly during complex bridge construction works over and adjacent to live rail / road and waterway environs. 

SAM WEST
Project Director

Lindsay is a Chartered Global Management Accountant and joined JF Hull in 2018. 

Prior to joining JF Hull, Lindsay had experience in oil and gas, mining and manufacturing in both the UK and Australia. 

Lindsay manages the finance function for the JF Hull Group supervising a small team responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions.  Lindsay ensures financial reporting and forecasting are accurate and timely, as well as seeking to continuously improve internal reporting. 

Lindsay works closely with project teams and JV partner finance teams to ensure forecasts are accurate.

LINDSAY KELMAN
Finance Manager

Danielle is a qualified engineer and a graduate in applied law.  This dual capability provides Danielle with a strong basis to provide effective and strategic advice on the correct processes and commercial systems to implement at project start up to ensure works commence on the right foot for all head contract, subcontractor and consultant matters.

Able to offer a detailed ‘Start up’ approach, Danielle is responsible for the development and negotiation of all contractual matters and well as managing legal and insurance requirements such as Professional Indemnity, PIPA and insurance coverage. 

DANIELLE HEYES
Commercial Manager

Scott has worked with and supported a variety of construction safety professionals over multiple commercial and high risk construction projects.

Scott also oversees internal auditing, process development, and incident investigations.

Scott also works with Safety and Environmental Managers in facilitating the preparation, implementation and maintenance of safety, environmental and quality management systems. 

SCOTT HINES
Systems & Compliance Manager

Tim Ellis has proven experience managing teams and safely delivering large scale civil construction and building projects across the mining, rail, utilities and oil and gas sectors nationally and internationally.

He has achieved considerable success by developing strategies focused primarily on risk
management, safety leadership, culture, and behaviours, whilst always looking towards reducing and eliminating hazards
that result in incident and injury. Tim has gained extensive leadership experience having worked on major infrastructure projects across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Singapore, and with Senior Leadership Teams within the
companies that he has worked with. 

TIM ELLIS
HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Manager)

Rory combinines the roles of Project Manager (PM) overseeing projects delivery and Bid Manager/Senior Estimator.

As CM, Rory provides oversight and support to construction projects, ensuring resource availability, construction efficiency and senior management interaction with the client.

As Bid Manager/Senior Estimator, Rory manages teams of engineers, estimators and support staff to deliver quality tender submissions for a range of civil infrastructure projects as well as guiding the constructability and delivery strategy for the works.
